Robert Medley & Rupert Doone take me by car down to Croutch in Kent where Brian & Frida Easdale have a cottage. It is a heavenly day & the country's refreshingly beautiful after yesterday's rain & the permanent London gloom. Lunch there & a grand walk in the afternoon. Jack Moeran comes over in the afternoon - & we all go to the old Golding Hop pub. & I get rather drunk on the most potent cyder - & I'm afraid behave somewhat freely! Back in town by 11.45.
