Hiram Tuttle -- 2 februari 1867

Mon 2 Tride the road today the comande came through and camped at boxelder.

[From the diary of Corporal Hiram Tuttle, Company K, 3rd California Infantry Volunteers Regiment of the U.S. Army. In his diary he kept a daily record of what happened during the military campaign the resulted in the Bear River Massacre on January 29 ("Left Franklin and went to Indians camp commenced the fight at day light ended at 10 1/2 a.m. 14 killed 48 wounded 4 officers")in present day south-eastern Idaho.]
