The Penitentiary was burned this evening. I went over to see it. One of the prisoners tried to escape jumped the wall & got a boyonet stuck through him.
Albert L. Peel, of Chulahoma, MS, served as Adjutant in the 19th Mississippi Regiment from May 1861 until his death at Spottsylvania, VA in 1864.
