Cycled to church. Maud came back in our trap to spend the day. After dinner she Mother + I walked through the bush + to the stream rose-garden. I took the following photos: (1) Clematis on a small tree showing Maud. (2) Maud + Mother on track in bush. (3) Clare + Maud among the ferns. (4) Maud + self in rose archway. (5) General side view of the rose-garden showing Maud, Mother, Viv, Dora + Marjorie. (6) Pathway under willows beside Koputaroa Stream. Showed Maud the suspension bridge I’m making + after a walk round we looked at books + photos in the drawing-room, Vivien [sic] acting as gooseberry. Jack Bartholomew came up to tea. Church in evening – sat with Maud – excellent sermon by Rev. Harris. A most beautiful day.
